Local Goodwill outlet store moved the cage for the carts. What’s wrong with this picture? I work with the mentally and physically disabled and things like this drive me crazy.

WTF Goodwill. You should definitely speak to them about it. They were moving the cart area closer?

Well I see a Neon, so there’s a start. We can ignore the cart return being in the area for a wheel chair in the handicapped spot if we get rid of that neon.

Our Law, Politics, and Society class just got done with a unit on the ADA and shit like this. Only way this will get fixed is if a person in a wheelchair van complains to/sues the Goodwill location. There’s really not much else stopping them, apart from morals.

Neon is crowding the cart corral, hoping someone runs a cart into it, thus totalling it. Dick move.

The 14 year old can do jack shit to move the metal posts there, though.

That’s a very interesting Goodwill. Looks like a warehouse that’s elevated.

I’ve been wondering: Is it really considered acceptable to have that crossed-out walkway section on only ONE side of the parking space? That Neon is parked as if they really needed the extra room on the passenger side .
But on the other hand, I gotta admit: If they’re capable of driving a car in the first place, then I guess they should be able to handle backing into their spot if they need to...

It’s the outlet center where all of the merchandise that didn’t sell, or wasn’t good enough to sell at the retail stores, ends up. Most everything is sold by the pound, and you have to dig through large bins to find stuff. Shopping there is a real adventure, with people going crazy when a new bin of crap rolls out. I’ve found some amazing deals (Dell Core i5, MacBook Pro, 1TB TiVo) but it takes some hunting to get the good stuff, and even then it might need repair.
It’sright around the corner from my office and thus I spend too much time over there. I really need to stop as my house is filled with crap I shouldn’t have purchased...

Yeah, I think the logic is that if you need the other side, you can back into the space. Seems pretty standard to only have the large walkway on one side.

I never saw this type of space in California but it’s fairly common in Missouri. Some people have no clue what that space is for and park in it, both cars and motorcycles. You would think that the diagonal stripes might be a clue, but there are a lot of clueless people out there.

Yeah, I kinda thought that it sounded unnecessarily burdensome at first.
But the more that I think about it, being able to back up your own car is not too much to ask. It’s a vital part of one’s driving skills.

It’s common in Michigan too. It just seemed kind of odd.
I’m sure that minimum requirements exist, but I’m not convinced that these lots are always well-thought-out. Does the walkway really need to be that wide? I would think that 5ft would be plenty of room, yet small enough to dissuade cars from trying to squeeze in.

Bruh that space isn’t there as just a walkway. There’s a reason it’s always on the passenger side (of his best friend’s ride, tryin’ to holla at me)

Thanks for that pic! I didn’t realize the ramp went out that far. That van would definitely have to be backed in if they tried to park where that Neon was.
